The simple things in life are the best. I come home today from work to find these flowers blooming. This is an actual picture of my Almond tree flowering for the first time ever. I love it when things that I plant grow. It's like I can do magic. It makes me feel like I can do anything. Well ! Almost anything, lol. Almonds are amazing. They have so many health benefits for your body and skin. They have fibers, proteins, vitamin E, and magnesium. They are antioxidants, low in carbs and high in protein. They can help fight cancer, control diabetes and blood pressure, and lower cholesterol. They are super food. They might help in weight loss because they controls hunger.
I eat a handful of raw almonds almost everyday for my snack. They satisfy my hunger in the middle of the day when I'm at work. They give me energy and fills me up until lunchtime. Nuts are good for you, but not all nuts are equal. To me, almonds are the best choice. They have less fat compared to other nuts.
I use raw almonds. Its the healthiest choice. The more natural your food is the better. Always try to buy your food in the most natural way it comes in. You can always add things to it to your taste. Roasted almonds can be processed or have preservatives and added fats. I will share with you in my future blogs some of my own recipes using almonds. Sometimes I just put them in a pan and roast them in the oven with some salt. Other times, I add honey and cinnamon or I just add it to my homemade granola. I also make dark chocolate bark with toasted almonds, coconut flakes, and dried fruits. Yes, delicious!!!!
